Share Network Access Point Volunteer Training

This was the first of the Faith Based organizations in the City of St. Louis to pioneer the Missouri SHARENETWORK Access Point initiative. There were approximately 14 individuals who have Volunteered to perform the duties as Access Point Assistants throughout the City of St. Louis. This group was given hands on training by Division of Workforce Development and St. Louis Area Training and Employment Staff in the operation and functionality of the Missouri automated GreatHires Job Matching system and the ShareNetwork Resource Directory. The Training was approx. 2 hrs in length and the Volunteers were given not only hands on training, but also documentation on the operation of the system and contact information for future use.

SHARE Network Access Point to Open

Employment Assistance is just One-Stop away! The Governor’s Office is proud to announce the opening of a new SHARE Network Access Point in Seymour, MO. This Access Point is the result of a partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor, the Division of Employment & Training, the Workforce Investment Board, and the state of Missouri.

SHARE Network Access Points are faith-based and community organizations where eager job seekers can go in their own neighborhoods or communities to look for jobs, assisted by trained individuals who connect them to the One-Stop system via computers and direct referrals for services such as online job searching and preparing a resume.

These Access Points will provide outreach to targeted communities for “non-traditional” customers lacking computer literacy as well as those who would not be comfortable or likely to do it on their own. They will also increase the number of locations where there is access to One-Stop services online and enhance community awareness of One-Stop services.

The new Access Point is at the Seymour Community Library, 320 East Clinton.  Hours of operations are Tuesday-Friday 9:00-6:00 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.  A grand opening is scheduled for Thursday, March 8, at 10:00.  For more information about the SHARE Network Access Points, please contact Bill Dowling or Donna Cole at (417) 887-4343.

Organization contact is Delores Turner, Seymour Community Library, (417) 935-4193.
